THE CENTERING PINS

Install Instructions:

1. Jack up vehicle until the tire is off the ground.
2. Remove wheel.
3. Clean wheel studs thoroughly with our wire brush X-1755-WB (listed under accessories).
4. Thread the three centering pins onto the wheel studs at the 12, 4 and 8 o'clock positions. (DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH).
5. Mount the wheel. You are now centered to the wheel studs bypassing the hub-pilots.
6. Replace lugnuts on wheel studs without pins on and tighten.
7. Remove centering pins and replace the three remaining lugnuts.
8. Tighten all lugnuts to the manufacturer's specifications.  

NOTE: All of our pin sets are threaded inside for the most accurate centering possible.  This threading also ensures easy removal of the tool.  When we tested our pin sets without the threading we found that the pins would bind up on the wheel studs and they became very difficult if not impossible to remove.  Our pin sets are also heat treated.  This hardens the steel and makes it much more durable and able to withstand the repeated usage the tool was intended for.
